 I'm
Captain Dan Hood, a fifth generation Florida native and captain. I
hold a United States Coast Guard Masters license. I have been sailing
the waters of the Southeast US and Bahamas for more than thirty years.
It would be a privilege to deliver your power vessel to or from any
port, from Maine to Texas, or through-out the Bahamas. I have well
over twenty thousand hours at the helm of my
45 ft charter boat Daisy
Mae VI, and numerous other Yacht deliveries to many unique
destinations. I am also an instrument rated fixed wing and helicopter
pilot with over thirty years experience. I am a graduate of the
Detroit Diesel factory marine engine overhaul and repair school and I
have thirty years mechanical experience on gasoline and diesel
engines. This combined experience is at work for you, to deliver your
boat to the destination port in pristine condition. Should any
problems arise during transit, my vast marine repair experience comes
in handy (very rarely does a delivery occur that does not require some
kind of repair or adjustment.... I find that many times deliveries are
on vessels that have seen vary little recent service and it is
important to have a qualified mechanic on board as well as a great skipper,
with me you get both). I
will handle your baby like she were mine. I will be more than happy to
furnish references also.
Cost and Fees
The average cost is 300.00 per day
for captain and 150.00 for one crew. In the event the owner or his
associate wants to go in lieu of a second crew, the cost
will be reduced. The owner will of course bear the cost of all expenses
related to the yacht delivery including transporting the crew to the point
of departure and back to the Tampa Bay area after the delivery is
complete. I will keep cost and fees as minimal as possible.
If a new owner wants to go on a delivery
or sea trial for training purposes, I will be happy to oblige.
I am a non smoker and non drinker and I
will wash and clean the yacht at the destination port. Your boat arrives
clean and undamaged.. (I've never had an insurance claim.)
